Jennifer Walshe wurde 1974 in Dublin, Irland, geboren. Sie studierte Komposition bei John Maxwell Geddes an der Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama und bei Kevin Volans in Dublin; im Juni 2002 graduierte sie an der Northwestern University, Chicago, wo sie bei Amnon Wolman studiert hatte. Ihre Kompositionen wurden in Europa, den USA und Kanada aufgeführt. 2000 gewann Jennifer Walshe den Kranichsteiner Musikpreis der Internationalen Ferienkurse in Darmstadt, 2002 erhielt sie den ersten Preis des SCI/ASCAP Commissioning Wettbewerbs. Jennifer Walshe was born in 1974 in Dublin, Ireland. She studied musical composition under John Maxwell Geddes at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and under Kevin Volans in Dublin. In June 2002 she graduated from Northwestern University, Chicago, where she studied under Amnon Wolman. Her compositions have been performed in Europe, the USA and Canada. In 2000 Jennifer Walshe was awarded the Kranichstein Music Prize at the Darmstadt International Summer Courses and first prize at the SCI/ASCAP Commissioning Competition in 2002. The composer has already received a number of commissions including ones from the Scottish Arts Council, the WDR in Cologne, the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, the Project Arts Centre, Dublin and Raidió Teilifís Éireann. She has also performed as part of the experimental improvisational duo nolimetangere.
