Enno Poppe, geboren 1969 in Hemer/Sauerland, studierte Dirigieren und Komposition an der Universität der Künste Berlin u.a. bei Friedrich Goldmann und Gösta Neuwirth. Es folgten Studien im Bereich Klangsynthese und algorithmische Komposition an der TU Berlin und am ZKM Karlsruhe bei H. Taube. Poppe, der auch als Pianist und Dirigent hervortritt, leitet seit 1998 das ensemble mosaik, Berlin. Von 2002 bis 2004 war er Lehrbeauftragter an der Hochschule für Musik »Hanns Eisler« Berlin. Er erhielt zahlreiche Preise und Stipendien, u.a. den Boris-Blacher-Preis (1998), den Busoni-Preis (2002), den Förderpreis der Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung (2004) und den Schneider-Schott-Preis (2005). Seit 2008 ist er Mitglied der Akademie der Künste, Berlin.

Born in 1969 in Hemer/Sauerland, Enno Poppe studied conducting and musical composition at the University of the Arts Berlin, under Friedrich Goldmann and Gösta Neuwirth, et al. This was followed by specialist studies of the synthesizer and algorithmic composition at the TU Berlin and ZKM Karlsruhe under H. Taube. Poppe, who also performs as a pianist and conductor, has been in charge of the ensemble mosaik, Berlin, since 1998. From 2002 until 2004, he taught at the Hanns Eisler Music College in Berlin. He has received numerous awards and scholarships, including the Boris Blacher Prize (1998), the Busoni Prize (2002), the Composer’s Prize from the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation (2004) and the Schneider Schott Prize (2005). Since 2008 he has been a member of the Academy of the Arts, Berlin.
